David M. Fry is a fifth generation funeral director. He purchased the funeral home from Robert & Pat Sheets in 1991 and have continued the hometown tradition of personal service ever since. He has been licensed as a Funeral Director in Iowa since 1976 and is also licensed in Indiana and North Carolina in the same capacity. He has had the privilege of caring for the deceased while helping families through the darkest days of their lives. Having lost his own father at an early age has given him a first-hand appreciation of personal loss. He holds an Iowa Life Insurance license which enables him to help families establish insurance based funeral trust accounts for prepaying of funerals before they are needed.
David is currently serving as the President of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association (IFDA) and is also the current Policy Board Representative for the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA). He has served IFDA as the past District 2 Governor and on various committees within IFDA. David has also had the honor of serving as the President of the International Order of the Golden Rule (IOGR) from 2013 – 2014, an association of independent, family owned funeral homes.
David is a member-at-large of the Tipton Lions Club where he served as President from 1994 – 1995, member of the Tipton Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Volunteer Services of Cedar County and served for 6 years as a Councilperson for the City of Tipton.
David and his wife, Elizabeth, attend Hope Church in Tipton. In his spare time David plays guitar, serves in the praise band at church, enjoys living in the country and playing with their dog, Genesis.
