David Fry

Owner, Funeral Director

David M. Fry is a fifth generation funeral director. He purchased the funeral home from Robert & Pat Sheets in 1991 and have continued the hometown tradition of personal service ever since. He has been licensed as a Funeral Director in Iowa since 1975 and is also licensed in Indiana and North Carolina in the same capacity. He has had the privilege of caring for the dead while helping families through the darkest days of their lives. Having lost his own father at an early age has given me a first hand appreciation of personal loss. He holds an Iowa Life Insurance license which enables me to help families establish insurance based funeral trust accounts for prepaying of funerals before they are needed.

The funeral home is a member of the International Order of the Golden Rule (IOGR) an association of independent, family owned funeral homes. David recently served on the Board of Directors of IOGR and currently serves as the District Governor in District 2 for the Iowa Funeral Directors Association and also serves on the Legislative Committee for IFDA.

David is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, a member of the Tipton Lions Club, the Tipton Chamber of Commerce, the Tipton Economic Development Corporation and serves on the Board for the Volunteer Services of Cedar County. David’s wife, Debra has been active in funeral service since 1998. She has a real talent for organization. Her computer and graphic skills is a wonderful asset for families. She helps families by creating our own “in-house” video tributes Debra assists families through the complete funeral process by her abilities to identify with their loss in her unique way.

Bill and Shirley Pinegar

Funeral Assistant

Bill has been with Fry Funeral Home for many years assisting with funeral services and visitations. Bill’s past managerial skills are instrumental in anticipating the unexpected needs of our families. Shirley is our hostess and our greeter. She has been the mother of Debra Fry for 52 years and the wife of Bill Pinegar for even longer. Shirley is in charge of the hors d’ oeuvres table which is complimentary for family and friends.
