Alex Lewis Achenbach

Alex Achenbach, 87, of rural Lisbon, passed peacefully in his home on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Visitation and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 with visitation starting at noon and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm all at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Burial with military rites will conclude at the Mason-Wallick Cemetery which is near his home. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.

Alex came into this world on March 19, 1936 in the same home where he passed away (not many people can say that). He was the son of Earl and Helen Stine Achenbach. Alex graduated from Tipton High School with the Class of 1955 and then joined the United States Army where he served in Korea. Alex returned to his home and to his roots farming all of his life. On September 9, 1988, Alex was united in marriage to his faithful life partner, Linda Ann Crowley in Beaver Park in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Alex came from a family of eight children.  Alex and Linda are blessed with four children,  Kim Alexander, Bill Kirk, Doug Kirk and Mason Achenbach, Alex was a grandpa to many grandkids. He is also survived by his sisters, Eunice Eide, Florence Achenbach and Marjorie Fox. Alex was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Achenbach and his sisters, Alberta Geiger, Audrey Nevius and Dorothy Swanson.
