Marjorie Jean Bequeaith, 93, of Stanwood, passed away peacefully Friday evening, October 4 in her home. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 10 at Fry Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 PM. A graveside service will take place at the Stanwood Cemetery the following day Friday October 11 at 10:00 AM. A memorial fund has been established for Camp Courageous. On March 5, 1926, Marjorie was born to Fred and Frieda (Heisch) Kleppe in rural Bennett, Iowa. She graduated with the class of 1944 from Stanwood High School and soon after married Wayne Bequeaith on June 4, 1944 in Tipton, Iowa. Although Marjorie had graduated, she still went to school every day for 17 more years as a school cook. She was a faithful member of the Stanwood Union Church and was a part of the Lincoln Band and Athletic Boosters. Anybody who knew Marjorie knew that she loved playing San Antonio Rose on the piano.
Marjorie is survived by her sons, Robert and Russell Bequeaith; brother, Donn (Karolyn) Kleppe; sister-in-law, Dianne Kleppe Sievers; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Collin Bequeaith. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Darrell, and infant sister Mildred.
