Melva Laura (Nebergall) Mueller

Melva Laura Nebergall Mueller, the fourth and youngest child of Roy Andrew and Phoebe Jane Ford Nebergall, passed away peacefully at Cedar Manor on Sunday, October 20, 2019.  Melva was born July 3, 1924 at the family home in the South Bethel neighborhood in rural Cedar County. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd from 9:30 to 10:30 followed by funeral services at 10:30 am, Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, Pastor Ronald Lashmit officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. 

Melva attended Union School in rural Cedar County and West Liberty Schools.  She was united in marriage to George Ransom Mueller in Kahoka, MO on August 29, 1942.  Together they raised their children: Jerry, Linda, Larry, Keith, and Diane.

Melva and Ransom worked side by side throughout their married life.  They farmed until 1967 and moved into the town of Tipton.  Together they took up the hobby of ceramics.  They shared their talents with others, making many special friends along the way.  Melva liked to cook and bake and guests could be sure to never leave her house hungry.  She was very talented and enjoyed crocheting and painting on just about anything.  Many who would visit her, would often go home with something she made.

She was a member of the South Bethel Church, United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge, and Kings Daughters.

Melva is lovingly survived by her children and their families, sister-in-law Beverly Mueller, nieces and nephews, extended family and special friends.

Melva was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, husband in 1998, sons Jerry in 1955 and Keith in 2013, son-in-laws Ronald Chambliss and Daniel Hannes.

The family is grateful to the Cedar Manor staff for their care and friendship to Melva, where she has resided since 2014.
