Kathryn “Kathy” Arleen (Post) Hillman, 69, of Tipton, IA, lost her battle with liver disease and entered eternity at her home surrounded by family on Friday, April 15, 2022.
Per Kathy’s request, no visitation or funeral will be held. A Celebration of Life will occur on her birthday, May 21, 2022, at 1:00 pm, located at 401 W 9th St in Tipton.
Cards and memorials can be sent to 525 6th St, West Des Moines, IA, 50265. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Kathy’s family would also like to thank everyone for their words of kindness during this time.
Kathy was born on May 21, 1952, to parents L Dean Post and Helen Arlene (Wolfe) Post in Iowa City, IA. She graduated from Tipton High School, Class of 1970.
Kathy and John “David” Hillman were married on May 1, 1993, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.
Kathy worked for CDS for over 30 years. She left briefly to help run the Post Family Farm. When she returned to CDS she worked there until her retirement in 2013.
Kathy loved nothing more than spending her days working in her garden, trying new recipes (even if she was always requested to make her famous brownies), sewing (especially christmas stockings and tree skirts!), traveling (making it to all 50 states), and most of all spending time with her family. She was always there to help out whenever you needed her.
Kathy is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Karlene Hillman of West Des Moines, IA, and Corriell Shipp (Jason) of Muscatine, IA; sons, Ian Hillman (Kyoko) of Greenbelt, MD; Aaron Hillman (Leticia) of Walnut Creek, CA; Erak Hillman (Susan) of Lone Tree, CO; and Andrew Hillman (Ashley) of Tampa, FL; sisters, April Zippe (Denny) of Tipton, IA; Jennifer Post of Cedar Rapids, IA; and Michelle Blake (Kirby) of Tipton, IA; brother, Randy Post (Barb) of Tipton, IA; numerous nieces and nephews; and 7 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, L Dean and Arlene Post.
