Jewel Louise Yeater Heick, daughter of David Charles and Alva York Yeater, was born February 8, 1927 in Tipton, Iowa. She attended Tipton High School. On March 20, 1943, Jewel was united in marriage to Delbert Raymond Heick in Moline, Illinois. Jewel was a homemaker and was an employee at Louis Rich for 20 years. She was also known for helping take care of the elderly. Jewel was a member of the Cedar Street Baptist Church. Jewel's work on earth ended on August 28, 2003 at the age of 76. She is loved and missed by her sons; Carl Heick and wife Doris of Atalissa, Iowa, and Jerry Heick and wife Anita of Tipton, Iowa; two daughters, Susan Frick and husband Roger of Waukon, Iowa, and Candace Ford and Husband Jeff of Moscow, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy Barscz of Torrance, California; and brothers, Franklin Yeater of Sacramento, California; and Mickey Yeater of Los Angeles, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Alva Yeater; her husband, Delbert Heick; infant daughter, Kaye; an infant great-granddaughter; two sisters, Bertha and Mary; and brothers, Chuck, David, Howard, and Bob.
