Steven Joseph Crock, 61, of Tipton, died on Monday, October 1, 2018 in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 5th at 10:30 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tipton with Msgr. Francis Henricksen, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 4th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm with the Rosary at 3:00 pm at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Steve was born on November 26, 1956 in Iowa City and was the second child born to Raymond and Margaret Beuter Crock. Steve was a member of the Tipton High School Class of 1975. Steve was united in marriage to Denise Ann Hoffman on November 26, 1977 in St. Mary’s Church in Tipton. To this marriage was born four children; Ann, Amy, Brian and Brad. Steve was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tipton. Steve loved to work. He was a lifelong farmer and a fabricator for Tipton Structural Fabrication for 22 years. Just three days before he lost his battle with leukemia he was back in the combine working with his sons.
Steve is survived by his wife, Denise of Tipton, Iowa; daughters, Ann Kurt (Jeff) of Fairmont, Minnesota, Amy Schroeder (Travis) of Low Moor, Iowa, Brian Crock (Sutherland Rees) and Brad Crock (Kelli) of Tipton, Iowa; his mother, Margaret Crock of Tipton; his siblings, Sue Howe (Scott) of Palo, Iowa, Teresa Wulf (Daniel) of Tipton, Iowa, Rita Cowell (Robert) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kenneth Crock (Sarah) of Tipton, Iowa, David Crock (Amy) of Tipton, Iowa, and Diane Wehde (Mike) of Tipton, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; Tyler, Avery, Alyna, Raelyn, Emily, Dylan, Sabra, Liam, Ethan, Cooper; many nieces and nephews and cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Crock and his mother and father-in-law, Ken and Marie Hoffman.
