Alice Timmerman

Alice D. Timmerman, daughter of Theophil and Irma Van DeWiele DeWulf, was born January 24, 1914 rural Wheatland, Iowa. On January 24, 1935 she married J. Leon Timmerman in St. James Catholic Church in Toronto, Iowa. Surviving are three daughters; Barbara Ihns and husband, Bill, of Massillon, Iowa, Beverly Green of Bennett, Iowa, and Theresa Quinn and husband, Larry, of Lowden, Iowa; three sons, Lee Timmerman and wife, Dolores, of Bennett, Iowa, Larry Timmerman and wife, Jane, of Ocala, Florida, and David Timmerman and wife, Joni, of Bennett, Iowa; 22 Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild, 11 Step Grandchildren, 33 Step Great Grandchildren and 14 Step Great Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Margaret Conrad of Lowden, Iowa, Sister-in-law, Violet DeWulf of Durant, Iowa; Brothers, Modest DeWulf of Lone Tree, Iowa and Arthur DeWulf of Wheatland, Iowa. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leon on February 26, 2006, Granddaughter, Angela Costello, Daughter-in-law, Janice Timmerman, Son-in-law, George Green; 2 sisters, Zoe Gregg and Florence Riedesel; 4 brothers, Charles, Joseph, Henry and Raymond. Alice enjoyed crocheting, baking bread, traveling through all 50 states and traveled abroad 5 times. She also enjoyed card playing, was the past secretery of the Bennett School Workers Club and helped to start the hot lunch program in Bennett. She was a wonderful homemaker who will be missed by her family and friends.
