Allen Peckenschneider

Allen D. Peckenschneider age 92, of Bennett died on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Davenport from complications of cancer. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2005 at theFry Funeral Home in Tipton. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be at the Inland Cemetery, Bennett. Memorials may be given to the Allen D. Peckenschneider memorial fund. Allen Detlef Peckenschneider was born on December 14, 1912 in New Liberty, Iowa the son of August and Louise Hanson Peckenschneider. He attended Sunbury Schools and served his country in the United States Army. Allen married Mildred Motz on October 20, 1945 in Nashua, Iowa. He worked for New Liberty Feeds and served as a Volunteer Fireman for both Bennett and New Liberty. Allen was a member of the Peace Church of Christ United in Bennett and the Bennett American Legion. He is survived by two daughters, Joyce and husband Al Henderson of Coal Valley, IL, and Carol Peckenschneider of Bennett, IA; one son, Gene and wife Joann Peckenschneider of Davenport, IA; one brother, Lester and wife Bernadine Peckenschneider of New Liberty, IA; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son, Mark , daughter, Donna, grandson, Ryan Avey, sisters, Adeline Wehde, Elnora Kleppe, Alice Gessell, brothers, Raymond & Harvey and son-in-law, Dennis Avey.
