Anita was born September 30, 1955, in Oakland, California, the daughter of Eulogio and Maria (Murillo) Iglesias, who had immigrated to the United States from Spain. She graduated from Arroyo High School in San Lorenzo, California, in 1973.

Anita spent many years working in secretarial and office positions in California before moving to Illinois in 1997. She later made her home in eastern Iowa, living in Lost Nation, DeWitt, Tipton, and West Branch. She worked at APAC in Davenport and also helped Doug and Josh with the family business.

On January 19, 2008, Anita was united in marriage to Douglas Paul Wright. The two first met in March of 2007, and their relationship grew from a slow and easy beginning into a devoted partnership.

Anita had a deeply compassionate heart and was known for her kindness, empathy, and concern for others. Her faith in Jesus Christ was central to her life. She read her Bible daily and often shared encouragement and prayer with others.

One of Anita’s unique gifts was creating personalized pictures and messages of encouragement for people facing difficult times. Through the “Prayer Warriors” Facebook group, she designed custom images for many individuals, especially children battling cancer, offering comfort and hope to families across the country.

Anita enjoyed life’s simple pleasures—game nights with board games and cards, movie nights, and gathering around the table with family and friends. She loved family meals, trying new restaurants, and spending time together playing games like Uno. She had a fondness for the color purple and enjoyed taking and sharing photographs. Favorite outings included trips to McGregor, the Buffalo Bill Museum, and Antique Archaeology in LeClaire, the shop featured on the television show American Pickers.

Anita is survived by her husband, Douglas Wright of West Branch, Iowa; her sons, Bryan (Whitney) Kempinski and Kevin Kempinski; her step-son, Joshua (Becky) Wright; several grandchildren; and her brother, Arthur Iglesias.

She is also survived by members of Douglas’s family, including his sister, Sandra (Gene) Eiselstein; aunts Jean Beer and Marilyn (Herb) Bain; aunt-in-law Nancy Helmold; uncle-in-law Cecil Slach; nieces and nephews Courtney (Micky) Hansen, Stephanie (Darren) Fry, Chelsea Puls, Tiffany Eiselstein, and Kaitlin (Jacob) Gleason; and great-niece, Lexi Fry; special friends Don and Mary Matthess and Bob “Jack” Crowley, along with extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Henry “Hank” Iglesias; sister-in-law Mary Ann Slach; and her former husband.

Anita will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her deep faith, and the compassion she shared with others throughout her life.
