Arlene Hein

Arlene Wilhelmina Hein, 92, of Tipton passed away quietly surrounded by her family on Monday, October 30, 2017. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 3, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bennett, Iowa. Burial and graveside services will be held at the Inland Cemetery in rural Bennett with a lunch in Arlene's honor being held immediately following at the Bennett Community Center. Visitation will be held at the Fry Funeral Home in Tipton, Iowa 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bennett or Tipton Senior Dining. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com Arlene was born August 29, 1925, the daughter of Harry and Anna (Reinking) Lett. She was baptized October 6, 1925 at Stanwood, Iowa and confirmed April 10, 1938 at Zion Lutheran Church in Wilton. On December 8, 1946, she married Lloyd Hein at the Zion Lutheran Church in Wilton, Iowa. Lloyd passed away on June 28, 2008. Lloyd and Arlene made their home on the farm. They farmed together for over fifty-three years near Bennett and Tipton. She was an active member of her church serving in the Ladies Aid, as a Sunday school teacher, and volunteering for vacation bible school. Her hobbies included Quilting, gardening, painting and reading. She enjoyed travelling all over the United States as well as Switzerland. Arlene belonged to her card club for over twenty-five years. She lived on the farm her whole life until moving into Tipton after retirement. She is survived by a son, Dale (Kathy) Hein of Tipton; three daughters, Sandra (Paul) Mueller of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Cindy (John) Gibson of Cary, North Carolina and Twyla (Kim) Hein of Tipton, Iowa; her grandchildren, Tara Mueller, Karl Mueller, Derek McCaw, Travis McCaw, Tyler McCaw, Bill Kanke, and Brenda Poole; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Matthew, Phillip, Alexandra, Morgan, Sara, Dayle, William and Alex; and great-great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jude; brothers, Donald and Edwin Lett. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd; her son, Gary; her brothers, Wilbert and Elwood; a sister, Norma and a grandson, Kevin Kanke.
