Auro Lemkau

Auro was born October 15, 1919 in Muscatine, Iowa, the fifth child to James H. and Vinnie E. Fowler Lockwood. She attended Franklin Elementary Schools and was a 1937 graduate of the Muscatine High School. On February 12, 1939 she was married to George A. Lemkau in Muscatine. To this union was born two children, Eric George Lemkau and Mary Louise Lemkau. George and Auro move to Tipton in 1947 where they owned and operated Tipton Plg. And Htg. located at 401 Lemon Street for 26 years. The business was sold to Bill Kohl who later sold the building to the VFW. The LemkauâEA
