Barbara Marie Conrad

Barbara Marie Conrad, age 95, of Tipton, died Monday, November 15, 2021 at her home following a long illness.

Barbara was born June 11, 1926 to Harry and Gertrude (Kranz) Timm in Muscatine, Iowa. She married Donald Conrad on August 30th, 1949 in Muscatine, Iowa. Donald passed away on April 23, 1998.

She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1944 and attended the University of Iowa. She devoted a majority of her married live to homemaking and gardening but also taught part-time physical education for the Tipton schools. She was a long-time member of the Tipton United Church of Christ and a member of PEO, and the American Red Cross.

Barbara’s survivors include daughters, Deborah McAlister and her husband, Ian, of Iowa City, and Pat Conrad of Iowa City; her sisters, Mary Beth Sanborn of St. Joseph, Michigan; two grandsons and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, don, and her sister, Silvia Timm
