Bernita May Armstrong

Bernita "Bea" May Vitense Armstrong was born May 2, 1920, in Center Township, Cedar County, Iowa. She was the daughter of William and Martha Butterbrodt Vitense. She was a 1938 graduate of Tipton High School and a graduate of Tipton Junior College. Bea was united in marriage to Donald Charles Armstrong in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on December 7, 1940. She was employed as a school teacher. Bea was a member of the United Methodist Church, U.M.W., Athenaeum, Federated Women's Club, Child Conservation, and was a 4-H Leader. Bea is survived by her daughter, Diane (Glen) Eaton of Tipton, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald and sister, Marjorie.
