Bessie Cecilia Jonak Brennan, was born to Charles and Marie Kocourek Jonak on February 25, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois. She attended schools in Czechoslovakia while growing up. Bessie was united in marriage to Leo John Brennan on January 28, 1937 in Tipton, Iowa. She lived her life as a farm wife and was a member of St. Mary' Catholic Church in Tipton, St. Mary's Guild, and Tipton Senior Center. Bessie is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann (Tom) Kemmann of Moline, Illinois, Deborah (Steve) Schafer of Moline, Illinois; sons, Robert Lee (Jeanette) Brennan of Tipton, Iowa, Richard (Linda) Brennan of Tipton, Iowa; step-daughter, Klarene Cook of Tipton, Iowa; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Jonak of Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marie Jonak; her husband, Leo John Brennan of May 26, 1981; grandson, Bart G. Brennan on February 4, 1994; step-son, Sidney Cook; sisters, Lillian Jonak, Vlusta Jonak; brothers, Charlie Jonak, John Jonak, and Jim Jonak. A memorial has been established in memory of Bessie.
