Betty Jean (Sterling) Wulf

Betty Jean Wulf, 90, of Tipton, was called home on Friday, June 23rd after suffering from complications of a stroke while under the watchful care of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 26th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 27th at 10:00 am, all at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband, Arlynn Wulf in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Otten, Ethan Wulf, Alicia Gritton, Alex Wulf, Caleb Wagner and Dylan Deerberg.  Donations can be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital and cards may be sent to 1253 175th Street, Tipton, Iowa 52772.

Betty was the daughter of James Leroy and Carmel Elizabeth Brown Sterling. She was born on March 2, 1933 in Mercy Hospital in Davenport, Iowa. Betty married the absolute love of her life, Arlynn Leslie Wulf on November 30, 1950 in Davenport. Betty and Arlynn made their home southeast of Tipton where they farmed and worked together, raising their ten children in a home filled with laughter and love. The most important thing in Betty’s life was her love for her husband and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her daughters; Theresa Walker, Susanne Wulf, Nancy (LeRoy) Von Muenster, Pamela (Hap) Deerberg, Laura Otten, Cari (Mike) Dauber, Aimee (Sean) Bonebrake; her sons, Daniel (Teresa) Wulf, David (Lisa) Wulf and Darrin (Penny) Wulf; 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons-in-law; Bobby Walker and Jack Otten, granddaughter; Julie Villhauer,  brothers; James Sterling, William Sterling and Robert Sterling, sisters; Rosemary Peterson and Evelyn Caldwell.
