Betty Elma (Stewart) Turner, 90, of Tipton, IA, peacefully passed away on February 12, 2025, under the supportive care of Cedar Manor in Tipton. Visitation will be held at Fry Funeral Home on Saturday, February 22nd, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery in Tipton at a later date. Betty was born on July 2, 1934, in Tipton, to William Lloyd Stewart and Laura Dora (Stender) Stewart. On January 27, 1951, she married Robert Lloyd Turner in Tipton. They celebrated 49 years of marriage before his passing in December 2000. They were blessed with a daughter, Karen.

Betty and Robert were dedicated dairy farmers, working tirelessly on their farm. Betty was known for her hard work, determination, and love for dancing, particularly to country music. She cherished the moments she spent dancing with her husband at the Moose Lodge. Looking back, Betty wished she would have worked a little less, and danced a little more, understanding what really mattered most in life.

A member of the Tipton United Methodist Church, Betty was also involved with King’s Daughters, Tipton’s Moose Lodge, and Tipton Senior Dining, where she served on the board. She was an excellent seamstress, working at T&M Clothing for many years. Betty loved thrift shopping with her daughter and had a passion for clothing and costume jewelry.

Though she began as a shy and timid girl, Betty grew into a confident and expressive woman. She taught her daughter the importance of hard work, honesty, and doing the right thing. Betty’s lasting advice will forever be to encourage one another to embrace life's dance and cherish the moments that matter most.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Karen (Bill) Kelly, and her granddaughter, Katelyn Kelly. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert; her parents; and her sister, Lavonne Martinek.
