Bonnie Jean (Grau) Freeze

Bonnie Jean Grau Freeze, 80, of Bennett, entered eternity on Friday, May 7, 2021. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 11:00 am at Inland Cemetery, Bennett. Pastor Scott Meyer officiating. A memorial fund has been established to the Peace Church in Bennett and may be sent to Brenda McGowan, P.O. Box 297, Lowden, Iowa 52255. Bonnie was born on September 1, 1940 in Davenport, Iowa. She was the daughter of Edward Claus and Alma Amelia Magdalena Wiese Grau. Bonnie attended both Wheatland and Walcott Schools. On June 22, 1957 she was united in marriage to Leonard O. Freeze in Davenport, Iowa. Together they owned Bennett Welding and Repair. Bonnie was a member of the Peace Church in Bennett and the American Legion Auxiliary in Walcott.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Patrick) McGowan of  Lowden, Son-in-law, Ricky Dirks of Lost Nation, Sister, Juanita Upson of West Columbia, SC, Grandchildren; Holly (Ethan) Johnson of Crowley, TX, Terry (Megan) McGowan of Vail, AZ, Heather (Roy) Goodenow of Maquoketa, IA,  Derrick Dirks of Baldwin, IA, Emily (Jackie) Dirks of Cedar Rapids, IA, Amber Dirks of Lost Nation, IA, Great-grandchildren; Jenna and Sierra Johnson of Crowley, TX, Kael, Baya and Ryne McGowan of Vail, AZ, Colton and Carley Goodenow of Maquoketa, IA, Kassin Dirks of Baldwin, IA, Bryon and Porter Dirks of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Kaleb Swick of Lost Nation, IA.   Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Alma, husband, Leonard, daughter, Beverly Dirks, sister, Ruth Siebel, and brothers, Arthur and Edward Grau.
