Carl "Boone" Martin

Carl Albert Martin, 81, who was known as Boone to his family and friends, died Saturday, November 23, 2019 while under the care of the Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton. There are no services currently planned at this time. His cremated remains will be buried in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery at a future date. The son of Albert and Lillian Etoline Straub Martin was born in Cedar County, Iowa on August 11, 1938. He graduated from Tipton High School with the Class of 1957 and served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Boone was a laborer and hard worker all of his life.

Boone is survived by his brother, Ron and his wife, Dixie Martin of Tipton, Iowa and his sister-in-law, Alice Martin of Iowa City, Iowa, and many nieces and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lavelle “Shorty” Martin, sisters, Lorraine Petersen and Betty Rickard.
