Carol Rae Schroeder

Funeral services for Carol Rae Schroeder, 68, of Olin who died Monday, February 13, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Fry Funeral Home, Tipton with visitation from 9:30 - 11:00 am prior to the service. Rev. Ron Lashmit will be officiating. Burial will be in the Red Oak Cemetery, Tipton. A memorial has been established in her memory. Carol was born July 24, 1943, in rural Stanwood, Iowa. She was the daughter of Velmar "Pete" and Bernice Paustian Wood. She was a 1961 graduate of Stanwood High School and on August 23, 1962, she graduated from Paris Beauty Academy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On March 24, 1963, Carol was united in marriage to Donald Max Schroeder at the Stanwood Methodist Church. On April 16, 1973 Carol began employment at US Nameplate in Mt. Vernon and continued her work there until her untimely death. She enjoyed going to garage sales, reading, dining out, bird watching and spending time with her family. Carol is loved and survived by her husband, Don Schroeder of Olin, Iowa; children, Scott (Diane) Schroeder of Mechanicsville, Iowa, Todd (Tracy) Schroeder of Stanwood, Iowa, Kim (Steve) Bixler of Olin, Iowa, Kris (Calvin) Kuehl of Tipton, Iowa; grandchildren, Alyssa, Nicole, Quinton, Noah, Cora, Max, Haley, Drew, Korie, Kyle, Curtis, and Cody; brother, Dean Wood; sisters, Pat Goldsmith and Doris Coiner; sister-in-law, Daisy (Ron) Wingert of Tipton, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents.
