Cecil Burnett

Cecil Chalmer Burnett, son of Leslie and Sara Jenks Burnett, was born February 1, 1913, in Carmen, Illinois. He graduated in 1932 from high school in Libertyville, Iowa. On July 20, 1941, Cecil was united in marriage to Viola Emma Rixe in Bennett, Iowa. Cecil spent his life farming and was a member of Peace Church of Christ United and Farm Bureau. Cecil is survived by his daughter, Pam Wuestenberg and husband, Bill of Davenport, Iowa; son, Merton Burnett and wife, Carol of Bennett, Iowa; and his grandchildren, Christopher Burnett and wife, Kyla Jo of Bennett, Iowa and Tricia Kay Burnett of Parkview, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Emma Burnett; sisters, Rachel Meeker, Dora Lentz, Frances Schuessler and Eunice Cline; his twin brother, Chester; and brothers, Richard and Sam Burnett. Memorials may be made to the Clarence Nursing Home and Bennett Ambulance and Fire Department.
