Charles Bender

Charles Chuck" Maxwell Bender71 years of age died Sunday October 29 at 6:35 am at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton Iowa. Chuck was born on October 11 1935 in Cedar Rapids Iowa and was the son of John S. and Margaret Plank Bender. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1953 and worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation. Chuck was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Tipton. Chuck suffered from a stroke and has made Cedar Manor his home since October 30 1993. Chuck is survived by his mother Margaret "Peg" Bender of Tipton; his two sisters Jerri and husband Rod Daebelliehn of Tipton; and Jean and husband Perry Swofford of Gladstone Missouri; nieces and nephews Jennifer DeWitt Julie Wuertz Jon Waddell Rod Daebelliehn Jessica Daebelliehn Nevin Swofford and Chad Swofford. He was preceded in death by his father John Swofford. A memorial fund has been established in his memory and may be donated to the Cedar Manor Nursing Home 1200 Mulberry Street Tipton Iowa 52772."
