Clara Louise Schroeder

Clara Louise Schroeder, 87, of Bennett, entered eternal rest with loved ones by her side on November 23, 2015. Celebration of life services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 11:00 am, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bennett, Iowa. Graveside services will be held at Inland Cemetery in Bennett, Iowa with a luncheon to follow at the Bennett Legion. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, Iowa. Memorials, in honor of Clara, shall be directed to the Volunteer Services of Cedar County, Prairie Hills, Bennett Ambulance or St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Clara Louise (Fullriede) Schroeder was born to William H. and Ella Miller Fullriede on May 5, 1928 in Cedar County Iowa. She was baptized June 3, 1928 and confirmed May 24, 1942 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bennett, Iowa. Clara attended rural Rosette School No. 6 before attending and graduating from Lowden High School, Class of 1946. She was united in marriage to Louis Schroeder on December 14, 1947 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where they were both members until Louis's death in 1980. Clara stayed a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was also a member of St. Paul's Ladies Aid. Clara held many titles in her lifetime: Housewife, mother and grandma are a few that she adored. She would always have the coffee pot on and was known for her homemade cinnamon rolls and rice. In earlier years, she loved taking meals to the field for her husband and sons. Holidays, making jellies and jams, baking and cooking, crocheting and sewing, and collecting Beanie Babies; all of these are a few of the things that made Clara the wonderful woman she will be remembered as. Clara is survived by her daughter, Gay (Karl) Kreder of North Liberty, Iowa; sons, Curtis (Linda) Schroeder of West Des Moines, Iowa, Gene (Sue) Schroeder of Bennett, Iowa and Perry (Julie) Schroeder also of Bennett, Iowa; grandchildren, Adelena (Joe) Waldon, Tony Pelzer (Lindy Bockenstedt) and Drew Pelzer (Bailee Goodfellow), Karl Kreder (Manli Yang), Katie (Tom) Eng, Colin Schroeder, Mike (Sarah) Burgraff, Eric (Andrea) Schroeder, Megan (Chuck) Ikewood, Trent Schroeder, Rachel (Casey) Scheve, Robin (Steven) Anderson and Ryan Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Harvey and Theodore Waldon, Alice Schroeder; Zach, Drew and Jake Burgraff, Tayte and Langstyn Schroeder, Chloe and Cooper Ikewood, Isabel and Charlotte Scheve, Kinsley, Sadie and Blakely Anderson; sister in law, Louise Schade and numerous nieces and nephews. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ella Fullriede; husband, Louis Schroeder; daughter in law, Peggy Schroeder; sister, Elda Schneider. Clara's family would like to publicly thank Prairie Hills, Volunteer Services of Cedar County and Muscatine Outreach Dialysis Center for the care and support they provided to Clara while she was in their care.
