Clarence Schmidt

Clarence Schmidt was born on September 29, 1926 near Bennett, Iowa the son of Otto and Annie Treimer Schmidt. He attended Bennett Schools and married Deloroes F. Soenksen on January 21, 1950 in Wheatland, a marriage that lasted for fifty six years. He was a life long farmer in Cedar County before moving to Tipton in 1984. Clarence loved his family, farming and John Deere Tractors, but nothing compared to the love he had for his grandchildren, Travis and Angie. He will be missed by his family and friends. His family includes his wife, Deloroes, sons, Roger and wife, Gloria Schmidt and Robert and wife, Cheryl Schmidt all of Clarence, two grandchildren, Angie Schmidt of North Liberty and Travis Schmidt of Des Moines, one sister, Mabel and husband, Elmer Horman of Lowden. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
