Claude Mitchell

Claude Henry Mitchell, son of Eldo Albert & Bertha Ann Achey Mitchell, was born February 24, 1906, in Cass Township, Cedar County, Iowa. He was a 1927 graduate of Tipton High School. Claude was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Farm Bureau, Cedar County HIstorical Society and a past trustee of the Presbyterian Church in Mechanicsville & Coon Creek. Claude was a Corporal in the Citizen Military Training. On December 7, 1934, Claude was united in marriage to Dorothy Leota Dodds in Cedar County, Iowa. He is loved and survived by his daughters, Marcia Ann Weaver & husband, Bill of Gassville, Arkansas and Muriel Jean (Jeanie) Bothel & husband, Curt of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; grandchildren, Randall Schuetterle, Todd Bothel & Trisha Almond & husband, Kent; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Mitchell & wife, Marguerite of Lisbon, Iowa and sister-in-law, Evelyn Mitchell of West Branch, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldo & Bertha Mitchell; his wife, Dorothy Mitchell on December 7, 2000; brothers, Harold, Guy, Homer, Ernest & Elmer; and son-in-law, John Crapo.
