Dan Allan Conrad, 48, Bennett, Iowa entered in eternal rest with his family by his side on Monday, October 10, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Friends and family may gather for time of visitation on Friday, October 14th from 4:00-8:00pm at Fry Funeral Home and a short visitation prior to funeral services beginning at 10:00am on October 15th at Peace Church of Christ United. Funeral services will begin immediately after starting at 11:00am. Private, family graveside services will be at Inland Cemetery, Bennett. All friends and family are invited to luncheon to follow at Rixe-Lausen American Legion (Bennett Legion). In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Dan's honor has been established. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Dan's life journey began in Davenport, Iowa on August 29,1968, where he was born to Merlin and Carma (Busch) Conrad. Dan attended and graduated from Clarence-Lowden High School, before graduating from the University of Iowa with a degree in Communications. He was united in marriage to Bobbie Wilkins on April 9,1994 in Lowden, Iowa. Dan and Bobbie were blessed with three wonderful children: Trevor Austin, Rylee Lynn and Madison Nicole, who were his utmost pride and joy. Dan held several respected career positions during his years of employment including; News Reporter/Anchor for KHAK radio and along with this position he traveled with Bob Brooks with Hawkeye Sports, Cedar County Dispatcher and his current position since April 1996 at Liberty Trust and Savings Bank, Tipton as an Assistant Vice-President in Lending. Dan's passion for the community reflected in the many organizations he was a member of: Tipton Rotary Club, Tipton Lions Club, Cedar County Extension Council, Peace Church of Christ United, Cedar County Conservation Board, Cedar County Banker's Board and Tipton Country Club. He was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams included the Chicago Cubs, the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tipton Tigers. Dan has impacted and influenced lives of many and never met a stranger. He was a true, genuine family man who loved his family, community and friends. Dan is survived by his wife, Bobbie (Wilkins) Conrad; children, Trevor, Rylee and Madison Conrad all of Bennett; parents Merlin and Carma (Busch) Conrad of Lowden; mother/father-in-law Robert and Shirley Wilkins Jr., Bennett, sister Jodi Olson, brother Curt (Pam) Conrad, brother/sister-in-law James and Aimee Wilkins, grandparents Robert and Shirley Wilkins Sr. He took great pride in his nieces and nephews; Blake and Brenna Wilkins, Ryan, Lauren and Tyler Olson and Austin Conrad as well as numerous friends from near and far. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Esther Busch, Elmer and Leona Conrad and Leona Wilkins.
