Daniel "Skip" Wade Schippers

Daniel "Skip" Wade Schippers, 52, of Stanwood, IA, passed into eternity on the morning of Sunday, January 9, 2022 while being treated for COVID at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. All services will be at Fry Funeral Home on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Visitation will be from 9:00 am – 11:00 am and a Funeral Service officiated by Rev. Dr. Randy Goodson at 11:00 am. Daniel will then be cremated. Family asks that all cards and memorials be addressed to Shelley Neal at 308 South Elm St., Stanwood, IA 52337.

Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Daniel, son of Wayne Eugene and Shirley Ann (Willemsen) Schippers was born on Monday, March 17, 1969, at the Skiff Hospital in Newton, IA. Daniel graduated from Monroe High School in Monroe, IA and attended Central College in Pella, IA. In 2008, Daniel met his soulmate, Shelley Lynn (Crowley) Neal in the sporting goods area of Wal-Mart and they have been together for 14 years. Daniel worked as a dump truck driver for Andy Bockenstedt Trucking and volunteered for the Stanwood Fire department for 20 years and the Olin Fire Department for 8 years. In his free time, Daniel enjoyed going to Flea Markets, Toy Shows, spending time with his kids and family, and he took pride in his yard. Family describes him as a big kid at heart and will be dearly missed. Daniel is survived by his companion, Shelley Neal of Stanwood, IA; parents, Wayne and Shirley of Otley, IA; sons, Cameron Schippers of Muscatine, IA and Nate Neal of the US Marines in California; daughter, Emma Neal of Stanwood, IA; brothers, Mike (Sandy) Schippers of Otley, IA and Randall (Denise) Schippers of Altoona, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
