Darlene Sophie Horman

Funeral services for Darlene S. Horman, 82, of Tipton who died Monday, September 17, 2012 will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11:00 am at the First United Church of Christ, Tipton, with Pastor David Lorenzen officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 pm Friday, September 21, 2012 at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. A memorial has been established to St. Luke's Hospice in her memory. Darlene Sophie Doermann Horman was born November 3, 1929. She was the daughter of Charles E. and Minnie S. Brinkmann Doermann. Darlene was a 1948 graduate of Tipton High School. On September 11, 1953, Darlene was united in marriage to Raldo D. Horman in Clarence. Darlene was a member of the First United Church of Christ and a homemaker. Darlene is survived by her husband, Raldo Horman of Tipton; daughter, Kathyrn (David) Koch of Shawnee, Kansas; son, Kevin (Sheryl) Horman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Alysse Koch and Kelli Koch of Shawnee, Kansas, Joel Horman of Marion, Iowa, Julie Horman of Hiawatha, Iowa; sisters, Vera W. Eiben of Dewitt, Iowa, Mary Louise S. (Harold) Horman of Lowden, Iowa ; and sister-in-law, Margaret Doermann of Anamosa. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eric E. Doermann, Melvin W. Doermann, Lavern H. Doermann, and Erwin C. Doermann; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Doermann, Dorothy Doermann, Leona Doermann; and brother-in-law, John Eiben.
