In Loving Memory of Dennis Robert Cram

Dennis Robert Cram, 73, of Tipton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from an apparent heart attack.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, at Downey Cemetery, located near West Liberty, Iowa. Friends and family are invited to gather at 1:00 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton before proceeding to the cemetery, or they may choose to meet directly at the gravesite. Following the service, light refreshments will be served at Fry Funeral Home from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.

Dennis was born on August 28, 1951, in Grinnell, Iowa, to Robert Austin Cram and Marjorie Louise Hall Cram. Known fondly as Denny, he graduated from BGM High School, Class of 1969, and later earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Buena Vista College. Before retirement, Denny worked as a buyer for Honeywell Corporation in Cedar Rapids, building a respected career.

On July 21, 1974, Denny married Sally Margaret Osborn in Evergreen, Colorado. Together, they built a life in Tipton, raising their two children, Robert and Kellynne.

Denny was an avid golfer who spent many cherished hours on the greens and was a proud member of the Tipton Golf and Country Club. He also shared a deep bond with his beloved dogs—Crowley, Oscar, and Chester—who brought him great joy.

Dennis is survived by his devoted wife, Sally, and his daughter, Kellynne “Kellee”, along with her husband, Jeremy Oxley of Tipton, Iowa. He also leaves behind three treasured grandchildren: Oakley Oxley, Anistyn Oxley (and her fiancée, Harrison Goodale), and Layla Oxley, as well as his sister, Linda Cram of West Branch.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Robert “Bob” Cram, and his parents, Robert and Marjorie Cram.

Dennis will be remembered for his warmth, dedication to family, and the quiet joy he found in life’s simple pleasures. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
