Dolores Tevis

Dolores Mae Coleman, daughter of Fred and Audrey Statts Coleman, was born on February 2, 1930 in Stanwood, Iowa. Dolores attended several Cedar County Schools. Dolores was united in marriage to Roy Chester Tevis on March 1, 1947 in the United Methodist Church in Tipton, Iowa. Dolores and Roy were blessed with three daughters; Cathy, Justine and Penne. Dolores was a hard worker all of her life. She was well known for her wit and humor as a waitress at the M & L Restaurant in Tipton. Dolores' favorite pastime was playing bingo. She played as often as she could in either the Tipton Senior Center, Bennett Community Center or wherever the opportunity presented itself. On May 12, 2007 Dolores suffered a stroke and eventually found her way to the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Dolores peacefully departed this life on Tuesday morning at 9:35 am. Dolores is lovingly missed and survived by her three daughters; Cathy Tevis-Wallace, Justine (Mrs. Ryan) Reynolds and Penne (Mrs. Merlin) Wallace, all of Tipton, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Mindy Wallace, Angie Wallace, Amy Wallace, Mikey Wallace, Ashley Reynolds, Amber Meier and Christopher Wallace; eight great grandchildren, Soren Buch, Ian Buch, Brianna Buch, Dalton Buch, Dawson Buch, Kelsey Schmacht, Katelyn Schmacht and Logan Winn; and her sister, Doris (Mrs. Paul) Osborn of Tipton, Iowa. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roy, on November 19, 1995. Dolores will be laid to rest in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery beside her husband following the funeral.
