Donna Kimbrell

Donna L. Regennitter Kimbrell passed away May 10, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospital after an extended illness. She was 55 years of age. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Elsie Regennitter of Atalissa, Iowa. She was born August 23, 1953 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Donna graduated from West Branch High School in 1971 and attended college at Kirkwood Community College receiving an accounting degree; she worked as a CPA for McGladrey, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for years. She married Donald Spurgin and lived in Marion, Iowa where they were active in square dancing for years, they later divorced. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she met and fell in love with John Kimbrell. They married in 1988 and lived in Phoenix, Arizona. They owned and operated Big John Enterprises. John passed away in February 2007 and in June of 2007, Donna moved back to Iowa to be close to her mother and family. Donna is survived by her mother, Elsie Regennitter of Atalissa, Iowa; brothers, Roger (Karen) Regennitter of Tipton, Iowa, Robert (Janet) Regennitter Atalissa, Iowa, Larry (Lesa) Regennitter of West Liberty, Iowa; sister, Joyce (James) Dugger of Atalissa, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Regennitter; spouse, John Kimbrell; niece, Renae Dugger; and multiple extended family members.
