Doris Henritta Hamilton Hines was born November 25, 1922, one of 9 children. She began working at the age of 15 in a Tipton diner. During WWII she was employed at Turners Electronics and later at Collins. Doris owned and operated the Beauty Box Salon in Marion, Iowa. In 1977 Doris moved to Florida where she continued selling drapes, carpet, and vertical blinds for years because she couldn't imagine not being busy. In the early 1960's she had one of the very first experimental open heart surgeries at the Mayo Clinic. The greatest compliment that could be paid her would be that she was a good friend, good wife, and a good mom. Doris is survived by her son, Gary Hines; grandchildren, Corporal Anthony Hines, Patrick Kuras; great-grandchildren, Anthony James Hines, Anjelina Nicole Hines, Zachary Haven Hines; siblings, Hazen Andresen, Angia (Angi) McQuillin, Edward Hamilton, and Maynard Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haven Hines.
