Doris Hines

Doris Henrietta Hamilton, daughter of William and Freda Rixe Hamilton, was born November 25, 1922 in Tipton, Iowa. She was one on nine children that blessed this family. Doris attended Tipton High School and in her earlier years worked for Turner Microphone and Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She spent most of her life sharing her talents as a beautician making ladies and gentlemen look and feel their best. Doris was united in marriage to Haven H. Hines on December 12, 1944 in Tipton, Iowa. Haven and Doris were blessed with one son, Gary. When life presented the opportunity for retirement, Haven and Doris moved to Port Charlotte in 1977 and have been residents of the Port Charlotte and Riverview communities ever since. Doris is survived by her son, Gary and wife Sharon Hines of Riverview, Florida; grandson, Cpl. Anthony Hines of Camp Leguene, North Carolina and Patrick Kuras of Port Charlotte, Florida; great-grandchildren, Anthony Hines, Jr. and Angelina Hines, sisters; Angie McQuillen of Tipton, Iowa, and Hazel Andresen of Marengo, Iowa; brothers, Maynard Hamilton of Port Charlotte, Florida and Edward Hamilton of Humbolt, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Haven on December 24, 2003, her sisters, Rosalie Roads and Grace Olson, and her brothers, William and Dale Hamilton. A memorial graveside service will take place in the spring of 2008. This website will be updated with the funeral service information once the final arrangements have been made.
