Earl Howe

June 18, 1911 — March 14, 2005

Earl Howe, son of Rutherford B. & Myrtle Horn Howe, was born June 18, 1911 in Rochester Township, Tipton, Iowa. He was a 1928 graduate of Tipton High School. On Feburary 15, 1938 Earl was united in marriage to Emily Shima. He was a farmer and sold seed corn from Golden Seed Company. He was a member of Tipton Lion's Club, Cedar County Historical Society, Cedar Foundation, Knights of Columbus, Eastern Iowa Alzheimer Association's Respite Program and St. Mary's Catholic Church. Earl is survived by his wife, Emily Howe of Tipton, Iowa; daughters, Mary Jo Ogden, & husband, Larry of North Liberty, Iowa and Roxanne Howe-Murphy, & husband Jim of El Granada, California; grandchildren, Mark, Scott & Patrick Ogden and Murphy Hart Rowan; great-grandchildren, Matt, Lindsey, Owen, Riley, Cody & Casey Ogden and Zachary Rowan; sisters, Carol Kohl of Tipton, Iowa and Martha Howe of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; and brothers, Clarence (Shaye) Howe of Pennsylvania and Marlin (Patches) Howe of Tipton, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rutherford and Myrtle Howe; sisters, Mildred Swider, Marion Coolbaugh, Delight Sterner and Catherine (Jimmie) Phelps; and brother, Vernon Ward Howe.
