Elaine's life journey began on January 6, 1930 in Cedar County, Iowa, where she was born to Henry and Alma (Edler) Wagner. She attended school in Bennett but finished her education in Tipton due to a fire at Bennett School. Elaine was united in marriage to the late Francis D. Eggert in 1952. They were blessed with 2 boys: Gene and Todd. For a brief time, Elaine added to her responsibilities of being a homemaker and mother and was employed at Wabash. Elaine enjoyed big band, polka and dancing at places like the Coliseum in Walcott and also in Lost Nation. Crosswords, reading newspapers and Sudoku kept her busy in her later years when she wasn't spending time with her adored grandchildren. She was a past member of Peace Church in Bennett. Surviving Elaine are her children, Gene (Karla) Eggert of Davenport and Todd (Lori) Eggert of rural Wilton; 7 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Harold Wagner.
