Bud was born on October 30, 1943, in Nash County, North Carolina, to Elias Carr Crisp and Hilda Ina (Scott) Crisp. With his father serving in the United States Army, Bud’s early years were spent traveling across the country until the family settled in Pomona, California. He graduated from Pomona High School in 1961.
On March 18, 1977, Bud married Cheri (Moore), and together they built a life filled with cherished memories.
Bud dedicated his career to the beverage industry, initially working with Coca-Cola and eventually retiring from Anheuser-Busch (Foothill Beverage Company) in Pomona, California. His strong work ethic and dedication were evident in every aspect of his life.
A proud adopted Iowan, Bud found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time outdoors, following the Iowa Hawkeyes, and taking meticulous care of his yard and vehicles. An avid racing enthusiast, he loved horse racing, drag racing, and stock car racing. He also had a passion for travel, especially trips to Iowa, where he enjoyed meaningful time with family and friends.
Bud is survived by his stepsons, Bart (Lisa) Miller of Clarence, Iowa, and Darren (Ann) Miller of Tipton, Iowa; his son, Todd, from his first marriage; and his grandchildren: Ashley (Jazz) Carreon, Melissa (Charles) Jackson, Brittney (Jordan) Kintzel, Kyle Miller, A.J. Miller, Tyler Underwood, and Taylor Underwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elias and Hilda; his wife, Cheri; and his daughter, Tammy Underwood.
