Elsie Marjorie Reiser Melick, daughter of John and Minnie Linsteadt Reiser, was born October 20, 1910, in Washburn, North Dakota. She attended country school while growing up. Elsie was united in marriage to Clifford Earl Melick on March 16, 1935, in Washburn, North Dakota. She was a homemaker and farm wife. Elsie was employed at the Cove Restaurant where she baked pies from 1965-1989. Elsie was a member of Rochester United Methodist Church and was very active in the United Methodist Women. She is loved and survived by her daughter, Beverly Gadient and husband, Patrick of Davenport, Iowa; and granddaughters, Teresa Lynn Gadient of St. Louis, Missouri and Kristin Schneekloth and husband, Randy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Melick in 1975; infant daughter, Marica Kay Melick on May 21, 1950; sisters, Susan Koenig and Ruby Enochson; and brothers, Elmer, Marvin, and Orin. Memorials may be made to the Rochester United Methodist Church in memory of Elsie.
