Esther Violet Rupe, daughter of Theodore Lee and Elizabeth Nagel Small, was born on June 28, 1915, in Cedar County, Iowa. She was a 1933 graduate of Tipton High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College. Esther was united in marriage to Gayle B. Anderson and later married Harvey Rupe on June 16, 1963 in Tipton, Iowa. She was a former school teacher and worked as a secretary for Dr. Carl Myrmo. She was a member of Kings Daughters, O.E.S., Mt. Zion Guild Workers, United Church of Christ and Women's Fellowship. Esther is survived by her husband, Harvey Rupe of Tipton, Iowa; daughters, Joyce Morrow and husband, Gene of Tipton, Iowa and Jan Kramer and husband, Scott of Tipton, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Janet Higgins and husband, Bill of Apache Junction, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Elizabeth Small; husband, Gayle Anderson on June 28, 1937; a son Marvin in 1986; and a granddaughter, Teri in 1984. A general memorial fund has been established in honor of Esther.
