Esther Louise (Stolte) Henricksen

Esther Louise Henricksen, 95, Bennett, quietly entered eternity in the late evening hours of Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all cards and memorials be sent c/o Myron Henricksen to PO Box 25, Bennett, IA 52721.

A one hour visitation at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, will begin on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 9:00 am followed by a 10:00 am funeral service. Graveside services will be at the Lowden Cemetery.

Esther, daughter of Hugo and Sophia (Sieling) Stolte, was born on Saturday, January 24, 1925 in Anamosa, IA. She attended and graduated from Tipton High School with the Class of 1943.

Esther was joined in marriage to Donald Allen Henricksen on October 29, 1945 in Denver Colorado. Esther was a homemaker and worked at the Louis Rich Plant in West Liberty, IA until the early 1970’s. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since 1963, favored polka music and enjoyed watching basketball, figure skating and Lawrence Welk on TV. Esther was also a crafter, she did needlepoint and crocheted doilies, but most importantly, she crafted loving relationships with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also known as being selfless, generous and kind.

Esther is survived by her son, Myron Henricksen of Bennett, IA; son-in law, Dennis Schmidt of DeWitt, IA; five grandchildren, Deana (Frank) Sanders of Davenport, IA, Donald Henricksen of Davenport, IA, Leala (Michael) Widner of Hudson, IA, Tom (Tiffany) Schmidt of Eldridge, IA, and Tyler (Angela) Schmidt of Eldridge, IA; 9 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Hugo and Sophia Stolte; husband, Donald; daughters, Sandra Jo Henricksen and Sally Rea (Dennis) Schmidt; sisters, Dorothy Kuchel, Darlene Blythe, and Betty Stolte; and brothers, Hilbert Stolte and Elmer Stolte.
