Evelyn Leone Nebergall, daughter of Frank Stoe and Mayme Pearl Isman Chapman, was born in Rochester Township, Cedar County, Iowa on August 22, 1914. As a child she attended country schools and after her family moved to town she graduated from Tipton High School. On February 26, 1936 Evelyn was united in marriage to Clare John Nebergall. Together they were blessed with four children, Joyce, Wayne, Keith and Marlin. Evelyn was a faithful member of the South Bethel Methodist Church where she played the organ for many years. She was a past member of the Eastern Star, Iowa Master Farm Homemakers and the United Methodist Women. She lived her whole life in Cedar County. Evelyn made her home in Cedar Manor Nursing Home the last several years and still played the piano and organ for services in the nursing home. She played for Sunday services the Sunday before she died. Evelyn is survived by her three sons; Wayne and his wife, Marilyn, Nebergall of Tipton, Iowa, Keith and his wife, Judy, Nebergall of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Marlin and his wife, Peg, of Broomfield, Colorado; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clare Nebergall and daughter, Joyce Mitchell. A general memorial fund has been established in her memory. Memorial services for Evelyn Nebergall will be held at 1:00 PM at the South Bethel Church which has been relocated to the Cedar County Historical Grounds north of Tipton on Highway 38. The Reverands David Dirks and Ronald Lashmit will officiate. A luncheon will be held in the Calvary Foursquare Gospel Church following the service. A private burial of Mrs. Nebergall's cremated remains will be in the South Bethel Cemetery prior to the memorial service.
