Florence Mildred Cawiezell, the daughter of Theodore Herman J. and Alvina Caralyn Mangels Stock, was born April 30, 1914, in rural Minot, North Dakota. She attended school at District #5 Bluegrass Township. Florence was united in marriage to Ernie John Cawiezell on April 19, 1932 in Rock Island, Illinois. She was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a past member of the Moose, Farm Bureau, Kings Daughters, 500 Club, Blue Grass Sun Shine Workers, was very active in 4-H and attended a course on creative writing at Kirkwood College. She and Ernie also spent many years volunteering at Cedar Manor. Florence enjoyed writing poetry and will be remember for her unconditional love and the exceptional care that she gave her daughter, Shirley. Florence is survived by her daughter Ruby (Larry) Ivins of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sons, Walter (Barb) Cawiezell of Tipton, Iowa, Kenneth (Patricia) Cawiezell of Palo, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Viola Siems of Wapello, Iowa, Dorothy Siems of Newton, Iowa and Edna Pierce of Tipton, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernie; daughters, Karen Kleppe and Shirley Cawiezell ; daughter-in-law Kay Cawiezell; sister, Bernice Kleppe; brothers, Elmer, Harold, Alvin, Raymond, and Theodore Stock.
