Florence Irene Regennitter, 88, formerly of Bennett, died peacefully on Friday evening in Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services for Florence will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 10:30 am, Fry Funeral Home, Tipton with Pastor Barbra Keiper officiating. Burial will follow in Inland Cemetery, Bennett. Visitation for Florence will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. A memorial fund has been established for the Peace Church of Christ United, Bennett Library, Bennett Ambulance, and the Bennett Fire Department. Born on August 9, 1922 in Muscatine County, Iowa , Florence was the daughter of William F. and Anna Johansen Schlapkohl. She graduated from Durant High School. On August 9, 1942 Florence was united in marriage to Norman D. Regennitter in Davenport, Iowa. She was a homemaker, a 30 year member of the Bennett Library Board of Directors, a 50 year member of the Bennett Card Club and was a member of Peace Church of Christ United in Bennett. Surviving are her children, daughter, Janell (Bob) Brooks of Delavan, Illinois, sons, Dale (Julie) Regennitter of Roseville, Illinois, Craig (Kim) Regennitter of Tipton, Iowa and Mark (Kathie) Regennitter of Bennett, Iowa; sister, Erma Pingle of New Liberty, Iowa; brother, Robert Schlapkohl of Stockton, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Elaine Regennitter, granddaughter, Amy Regennitter, sister,Bernice Dusenberry.
