Frances Mae Kuehl, 81, of Tipton, died October 31, 2014 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton. Visitation for Frances will be Friday, November 7, 2014 from 3-7PM at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. A funeral service to celebrate Frances' life will be Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11:00AM at the Tipton First United Methodist Church. A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following thereafter. Burial will follow at Moscow Cemetery in Moscow, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Women (UMW), United Methodist Church (UMC) or the Tipton Senior Center. Online condolences, photos, videos and memories may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Frances was born December 2, 1932 in Moscow, Iowa to Harold and Ella (Schneider) Cromer. She attended South Union School for 8 years and then graduated from Wilton High School in 1949. On December 10, 1950, Frances married Kenneth Frederick Kuehl at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Moscow. Together they had three daughters, Lynn, Laureln and Carolyn; and four sons, Allan, Kevin, Calvin and Dwain. Frances was a devoted homemaker and farmwife. She was also a member of the Tipton First United Methodist Church, serving as President, Vice-President and Secretary for the UMW. She was also a member of Abigail Circle, the Sunday School Superintendent, a Sunday School Teacher, and helped refinish the pews in the church. Frances was President of Women's Club, a member of Study Club, the Senior Citizen Choir and attended the Tipton Senior Center. Frances is survived by two daughters, Lynn (Marvin) Mohr of Bolingbrook, IL. and Carolyn (Scott) Whitehouse of Burnside, IL.; three sons, Allan of Dixon, MO., Calvin (Kris) of Tipton, and Dwain F. Kuehl, Col, USAFR (ret) (Cecile) of Sharpsburg, GA.; daughter-in-law, Cindy Kuehl of Tipton, IA.; sisters, Sarah (Wally) Steindorf of State College, PA., Lois Wellendorf of Davenport, IA., and Wanda ("Bud" Vingene) Martens of Rock Falls, IL.; 13 grandchildren, Zachary Kuehl, Zarick Kuehl, Hannah (Mohr) Birney, Garrett Mohr, Michele (Kuehl) Ellerhoff, Melinda Kuehl, Matthew Kuehl, Kara Whitehouse, Kyle Kuehl, Curtis Kuehl, Cody Kuehl, Erick Kuehl and Laura Kuehl; and 5 great-grandchildren, Austin Ellerhoff, Abigail Ellerhoff, Donovan Shipley, Elijah Qaoud, and Logan Kuehl. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ella Cromer; husband, Kenneth; infant daughter, Laureln; son, Kevin; sister, Dorothy Holtz; brothers-in-law, Robert Wellendorf, Hubert Pelzer, Richard Wagaman, John Holtz and Kenneth Lamp; sisters-in-law, Joyce Pelzer and Darlene Lamp; and friend, Gene Weih.
