Gary David Ohrt

Funeral services for Gary David Ohrt, 48, of Tipton, who died Tuesday, February 1, 2011, will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 1:30 pm, Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Visitation will be held Friday, February 4, 2011 from 4-7 pm at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Pastor Paul Frederiksen will be officiating. Organist will be Nancy Hipple and casket bearers are: Brad Behrens, Brent Behrens, Chris Chalupa, Jeff Gipson, Max Villhauer, and Zach Ohrt. Gary David Ohrt, son of Donald Eugene and Judy Kaye Gray Ohrt, was born April 18, 1962 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was a 1981 graduate of Tipton High School. On September 29, 1984, Gary was united in marriage to Sandra Jean Behrens at United Methodist Church, Tipton, Iowa. He assisted his brother-in-law in farming. Gary is survived by his parents, Don and Judy Ohrt of Wilton, Iowa; wife, Sandy Ohrt of Tipton, Iowa; sons, Nathan (Ashley Tholen) Ohrt of North Liberty, Iowa, Nick Ohrt of Waverly, Iowa; sister, Kathy Villhauer of Wilton, Iowa; brothers, Wayne Ohrt of Clarence, Iowa, Steve (Linda) Ohrt of Tijeras, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Nikki Phelps and niece, Jodi Phelps. Memorials may be made to the Gary Ohrt Memorial Fund in memory of Gary.
