Geraldine "Geri" Frances Reihsen Crock, 85, of Mechanicsville, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 13, 2017, in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Friends and family may gather at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, for a graveside service and interment on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. A private, family only, Funeral Mass will be held prior to the graveside service. A memorial in Geraldine's honor has been established and online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Geraldine was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on November 1, 1931, to Louis Matthew and Frances Louise (Hall) Reihsen. She graduated from Belle Plaine Community High School. She was united in marriage to the late, Paul Crock, in Belle Plaine, on November 13, 1954. The couple made their home on Paul's childhood farm in Mechanicsville where they raised their six children. Geraldine's early years of employment were spent working at Reihsen Rexall in Belle Plaine and Northwestern Bell in Cedar Rapids. After marrying, she was a homemaker and helped Paul on the farm. Geraldine was a member of St. Mary's Church, St. Mary's Guild, American Legion Auxiliary, and Red Hatters. Geraldine found great joy in reading, gardening, visiting antique stores and attending her grandchildren's activities. Surviving Geraldine are her daughters, Linda (Randy) Scheetz, Paula Crock, Donna (Curt) Garner, Regina (Ron) Jurek; daughter-in-law, Doreena Crock; son-in-law, Larry Salemink; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, who passed away 20 days ago; parents, son, Richard "Dick" Crock, daughter, Mary Salemink; sister, Virginia Randolph.
