Gloria Jane (Smith) Yock

Gloria Jane Yock age 91, last residing in Anacortes, Washington, passed away peacefully on 10/08/2024 after a short illness. She was born on 03/03/1933 in Tipton, Iowa.  She lived most of her adult life in central Iowa in the cities of Tipton, Stanwood, and Coralville.  Later in life she lived with her children in the states of Alabama, Florida and Washington.

Gloria was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. True to her name she was a devoted Christian that glorified God in reading the bible and praying daily.  Her favorite pastime was watching uplifting and inspiring shows on the Hallmark channel.   Gloria loved games and was known for her prowess in doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by her children: Belinda Rogers (Larry), Cindy Flockhart (Rick), William Yock (Zhimei), Margie Campbell; grandchildren: Jennifer Stenson (Brian), Jason Rogers (Gina),  Erica Kumar (Ananth), Evan Yock, Angela Moyle (Charles), Michael Flockhart (Nicky) Tara Twedt (John), Chloe and Lauryn, ; greatgrandchildren: Shanna, Kelly, Cole, Ahna, Addisyn, Lily, Tyler, Brielle, Lyla, Mikayla, Alexandra, Katelyn, Trey, Kierstyn, Tristyn, Claire, Thea, and Ethan.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Edward Yock, her parents Lance Arvil and Frances Ann Smith, seven of her siblings (Wilma, Theodore, Paul, DeWayne, Hilbert, Donna, and Patricia), and a grandson Jeffery Wagner.  Her remaining sibling Darlene passed away 3 months after Gloria.

A celebration of life will be held April 5th at the Stanwood Union Church from 12:00 – 3:00pm.  She will be interred at the Diamond Cemetery north of Clarence Iowa next to her husband Bill.  Please direct remembrances and offerings to the charity of your choice in her name.  Casual attire is encouraged!
