Gwendolyn Sue Emrich

Gwendolyn Sue Emrich, age 63, of Tipton, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013, at the St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013, from 10 am to 12 pm at the Fry Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 12 pm, Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the Fry Funeral Home with Rev. David Lorenzen officiating. Burial of her ashes will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery in Tipton. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. She was born on May 24, 1950, the daughter of Robert and Darlene (Rife) Leaf. She was a graduate of Tipton High School and a member of the United Church of Christ in Tipton. She had worked as a private housekeeper. Gwen is survived by her husband, M. Lyle Emrich; a daughter, Melissa (Chris) Doerscher of Davenport; three sons, Darren Lenz of Tipton, Derek Lenz of Washington, IA, and Jon Moore of Tipton; a sister, Ginger Ford of Tipton; two brothers, Robert (Colleen) Leaf, and Wayne Leaf; eight grandchildren, Eric & Austin Lenz, Connor & Brianna Doerscher, Garrett Kinney, Kody, Wyatt & Ella Lenz. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial fund in Gwen's memory has been established by the family.
