Harvey Rupe

Harvey Rupe, 91, Tipton, died Thursday, September 13, 2012, Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 18th, 2:00 pm, Tipton Masonic Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Tipton VFW and Tipton American Legion. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Fry Funeral Home prior to the service. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Harvey was born on August 11, 1921 in Alta Vista, Iowa and was the son of Daniel and Bertha Kaiser Rupe. He was united in marriage to Esther Violet Small Anderson on June 16, 1963 in Tipton. Harvey worked in the grain elevator department for Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids for 37 years. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Tipton and proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. Harvey is survived by two step-daughters; Joyce (Eugene) Morrow and Jan (Scott) Kramer both of Tipton; sisters-in-law, Dutch Rupe of Tipton and Helen Rupe of Swisher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; his son, Donald; step-granddaughter, Teri Emrich in 1984; step-son, Marvin Anderson in 1986; brothers, Raymond, Bill and Elmer; and his sister, Irene Keller.
