Helen Arlene Post

Arlene Post, 86, of Tipton, passed away Thursday, May 05, 2016 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Visitation will be held Monday, May 9 from 10:00-11:00 am, Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with the funeral service beginning immediately after at 11:00 am. Graveside service and burial will be held at Tipton Masonic Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. A memorial fund in Arlene's honor has been established. In Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on August 27, 1929, Arlene was born to Floyd and Alma (Koenig) Wolfe. She graduated from Iowa City High School with the class of 1948 and attended Bethany Lutheran College for one year. Arlene and L. Dean were united in marriage in Iowa City on August 27, 1949. She was employed with Proctor and Gamble in Iowa City before leaving to work with her husband on their farm. After retiring from farming, Arlene was employed at Cedar Manor for several years. During her years of working on the farm, Arlene was also running after and tending to their 5 children: Kathy, April, Jennifer, Michelle and Randy. She was a past member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bennett, the 4-H and Farm Bureau. Arlene is survived by her five children: daughters, Kathy (Dave) Hillman, Tipton, April (Denny) Zippe, Tipton, Jennifer Post, Cedar Rapids, Michelle (Kirby) Blake, Tipton, son, Randy (Barb) Post, Tipton; seven grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and seventeen step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Floyd Wolfe Jr. and Allen Wolfe.
